ABOUT US
Established in the Fall of 2006, HealthRIght is a statewide group that convenes key stakeholders to organize for the passage and implementation of comprehensive health care reform that will control costs, improve quality of care and health outcomes, and expand health coverage to all Rhode Islanders.
We are committed to a reform that benefits the insured while also extending coverage to the uninsured.
We believe Rhode Island needs a health care system that will be sustainable for employers, families, health care providers and institutions, and for the state’s economy.
We will accomplish our mission by convening representatives of business labor, health professionals, the academic community and consumers to define uniquely Rhode Island policy proposals informed by the following principles:
- All public and private health care dollars are consolidated into a single public or not-for-profit purchaser of health insurance and/or health care services.
- Costs are controlled by implementing a coordinated health planning process and restructuring delivery of health care to achieve more equitable and efficient allocation of health care resources.
- All Rhode Islanders have timely access to appropriate, affordable, quality health care
